Xbox 360 like Sony's PlayStation 3 and Nintendo's Wii is a seventh generation video game console. This is the updated version of first Microsoft video game console Xbox and was released on May 12, 2005. The main features of Xbox 360 are: players can compete online, download arcades games, game demos, TV shows, music, movies, and windows media center multimedia capabilities, offers regional access to Netflix and ESPN in USA or Sky Player in UK. As of June 2010, 41.7 million Xbox 360 consoles are sold globally.

            Xbox 360 controller released in E3 2005 is the primary console controller; one version is wireless requiring AA battery and the other version is wired connection through USB port. The features of Xbox 360 controller are: seventh generation video game controller, 2 AA batteries or USB power source, 2 analog sticks, 2 triggers, 11 digital buttons (four action buttons green A, Red B, Blue X, Amber Y on right face etc), Digital D-Pad, Size 6.1” x 4.33” x 2.17”. A headset jack allows users to connect to headset for voice communication during game play. A new design of Xbox 360 console controller with play & charge kit and an adjustable directional pad is to be released in late 2010 in USA and early 2011 in Europe.

            Connect the controller to PC – Connect Xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver to PC or connect controller to PC via USB port, insert installation CD in CD or DVD drive, set up program starts automatically, otherwise run set up executive from the CD drive, click install, software is installed and computer restarts. In case of no installation disk download the software using Microsoft download page. Select Xbox 360 controller, download and install. Then test the controller as per instructions on the manual

            Xbox 360 controller does not support all games. If supported one has to set up configurations for playing different games.
